美味しいポテトグラタン

I love to cook!
今回は久しぶりにグラタンに挑戦！
I’ve gotten some fresh potatoes from my grandmother-in-law the other day.

それから昨日の夕食のスパゲティーを利用して、昨日鶏肉にしみ込ませたハーブ塩をフライパンで焼きます。

I cut the potatoes in thick slices and put them on the bottom of the oval aluminum foil first. Second, I put the herbal chicken sauté on top of sliced potatoes. Next, I put the creamy spaghetti with sauce. Parmesan cheese is needed as you wish. Last but not least, breadcrumbs on top.

パン粉がこんがり焼けて美味しそうなポテトグラタンの出来上がり！

Snow in Tokyo

先週から姉が東京に行っているのですが、寒そうですねぇ。。
それが、雪が積もるとさくさくではなく、ずぶずぶと足が入ってブーツがずぶ濡れだそうです。

Poor thing…
I hope everyone won’t get sick!
Okinawa seems to have a good weather this week!
お天気が良い事は素晴らしい事なのですが、離島では雨が降らない事で断水になる事がちょくちょくありまして。。

I want to befriend with water outage. I take shower in the early time so I don’t have to use the water in the evening.
協力出来る事があるのであれば、私はいつでもサポートしたいと思っています。

私達の第一歩は、未来の子供たちの為にもなると信じています。

How do you support society?
もし社会に貢献している事などがあれば教えて下さい。

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!

今日はバレンタインデーです！
そして、旧１６日です。うぶく日です。

This celebration is for ancestors.
I went to Gushikawa this morning and pay a visit to my grandparents-in-law.

面白いですねぇ。。
具志川のしきたりでお米は赤くするそうです。

I also enjoyed the Japanese radish with rib meat.
I really enjoyed talking with them.
They are very sweet and nice.

おばあちゃんがデイサービスに行く前にお昼ご飯を一緒に食べる事が出来ました。後１時間遅れていたら、おばあちゃんに会ませんでした。

Lucky me!!
自分の母方、父方共に祖父、祖母は他界しているので、主人の祖父、祖母に会うのはいつも楽しみです。

Of course, I also brought the homemade chocolate for Valentine day!
ご飯を食べ終わったばかりだったので、後で食べると言っていました。

I’ve gotten some potatoes from grandparent-in-law.
そのお返しにジャガイモをもらいました。

さぁ、どんな料理にしましょうか。
I am looking forward to making something with these potatoes.

Which winter sports do you like?
小さい頃、スキーへ行きましたが、あまりうまく滑れなかったのですが、それでもスノーボードにはちょっぴり興味があります。

Since I failed on skiing, I rather like to watch winter sports.
若い世代の方々がとても頑張っています。

苦しいことを乗り越えて、諦めずにひたすら努力した結果、オリンピックへいけるのです。

今日は建国記念日の日で皆さん、お休みですね?
Did you go out today?

今日をどのように過ごしたのでしょうか♪
For me, I spend my time at home cleaning and cooking.
I was happy because today, I could wash clothes and hang them outside!!

乾燥機がないと、とても不便だなぁっと感じている今日この頃であります。。
How do you survive without dryer!!!
I wish I had dryer at home…

それはさておきと、お家に帰るととても野菜が食べたくて、食べたくて仕方がありません。

I ate broccolis the other day.
Today, I ate 2 big bowls of salads with mixed nuts.

お野菜を採りたいと言うのは、何のサイン何でしょうか?
I wonder…

もっとお料理を勉強して、毎年生徒さんの～周年記念の日までに、美味しい軽食をお出し出来たらと思います。

先週から本当に怒涛の一週間でしたが、やっと落ち着けそうです。

I went to all over the places!!

I love my students! They are so funny and adorable!!

今日はズボラな人ＶＳ細かい人について少しお話しましょう。
Are you sloppy or stickler person?

私はたぶん、ちょうど真ん中あたりにいるかもしれません。
I am not sloppy all the time and I can sometimes be a stickler. I am stickler about my book order. It has to be in order or I am not happy.

本はやはり自分の中でいつも使うものなので、大切にそして同じ場所にいつも戻したいと思う気持ちが強いですね。

I believe book will give you enormous wisdom.
知識に勝るものはないのではないでしょうか？

2月になりましたねぇ！

It's very warm in Okinawa!
We have 23℃ today!
This month should be the coldest of all season, not not Okinawa!

先週から今日まで出張で福岡に行っていましたが、今日は朝からスケジュールを変更して、早めの便で沖縄入りしました。

My husband's grandfather passed away over the weekend and we have to be back for the funeral. My busy schedule never gets rest and move on to the next.

次々と来るイベントで、休憩なしに走り続ける私ですが、とても良い機会に素敵な方々とお会い出来ました！

Good evening, everyone!

今日の沖縄はさっむいですねぇ！！

It is very cold for Okinawa!
However, I love this weather although it is cold!

今週は生徒さんにニョッキを作りました!
日本ではあまり見かけない食材ですが、今回はデザートにしました。

It is very warm and the smell of cinnamon will make you very happy!
始めにシナモンスティックを使うのですが、そのフライパンの中といったらとても良い香りがしてたまりません！！

I love cinnamon!
I will soon be making cinnamon sweets for next month!!
I can’t wait to make them!

来月のメニューはまだ内緒です♪
I hope you all like what I make!!

所でシナモンは、米国では「暖かい」香りがする事で有名で、その為デザートだけではなく色々なお料理に使われています。

その一つがシナモンニョッキでした。
It tastes a lot like mochi.
However, it is actually potatoes. I used paprika, spinach, and potato gnocchi.

シナモンの香りを楽しんで頂けると嬉しいです♪

A Happy New Year to you all!!

先週からあまりおめでたくない、年末年始に相応しくないイベントが続いていたので、先週はブログをお休みしていました。

However, I am starting today!
今日からまた始めますので、みなさん頑張って書いて下さいね♪

My last student to fly out to study abroad got stuck in the airport due to blizzard!
大吹雪で飛行機がアメリカ国内で飛ばなかったようです。

Therefore, I stay up all day long and helping my student what to do at the airport.
飛行機が出るとしても危ないので、出来るなら今いる場所で数日いた方が無難だという事で今週木曜日に、生徒は目的の場所に着きます。

What a story!!!
新年早々ハプニングはありますが、冷静に対処し事はスムーズに行っている様です。

Good job to myself!
そんな訳で、足止めをされてしまった生徒さんに近くのショッピングセンター、またはスーパーなどで気晴らししてみては？っとお勧めした所です。

他の生徒さん達は日本からの直行便があったので、何の問題もなかったのですが、天候が天候だけに大変な様です。

幸せの隠れ場所

Good morning, everyone!
Today, it seems like cloudy. I hope it doesn’t rain…

今日は「幸せの隠れ場所」と言う映画のお話をしたいと思います。
This is a beautiful movie.

主人公は黒人の男の子です。
He has been going to many different foster cares and causation woman in Mississippi took him in as a legal guardian.

そこから物語がスタートするのです。
He was grown up in the slum area in Mississippi.
However, he is very honest and very kind hearted person.

そんな銃が毎日撃ち放たれている場所から、こんな子が生まれるのは本当にまれな話だといいます。

This is a true story.
He becomes a football player and later on in his carrier, he will become a professional football player.
この男の子を引き受けた家族は、タコベルといって、とても有名なメキシカン料理のお店を営む家族だそうです。

2009年に主人公のマイクは、ＮＦＬに入りました。
彼の壮絶な人生から白人の保護者に受け入れてもらい、彼の人生はたちまち、すべてにおいて良い方向へ進みました。

This movie tells you, even when you are grown up in the worst area, you can always be a “good” person at the end and achieve success.

住む場所や環境のせいだと、よく人は言いますがそれ以上に自分の意志や、家族や友達が支えてくれたなら、人生良い方向に進む事もあるのかもしれません。

Most of the people in his neighbor die in young ages.
それもまた事実なのです。
学校に行けるという幸せを、私たちは本当に幸せに感じるという事を忘れない様に生きていけたらと思います。
